The distance-learning project eLeSI "e-learning for Social Inclusion" was born from the observation of a lack of training for many practitioners and support staff in Europe and beyond working with children and adults with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and/or mental health disorders.
eLeSI is supported and led by a consortium of 4 universities and 3 partner associations, aiming to put at the disposal of practitioners, but also of families and carers, distance training modules, with the support of tutoring, available in several languages. The free access training has a transnational focus.
It is based on the main principles of the United Nations Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (2006). This innovative project both in its purpose and its structure (between academic, associative partners, practitioners and beneficiaries) aims to improve the knowledge of European citizens on these specific groups and facilitate change in the value base of learners.
